总共集数 6 目前正在东京秋叶原3D剧院火爆上映的《飞跃巅峰2!&飞跃巅峰!合体剧场版!》，现正式决定发布限定版《飞跃巅峰2!&飞跃巅峰!合体剧场版!》DVD－BOX。
且将时钟倒拨18年，昔日的痞子庵野在1988年担任监督的《飞跃巅峰!》创造了传奇的前半部分。获得1990年星云赏的本作，是当时热血超级机器人的杰出代表。在最终话《在无尽潮流的尽头（果てし无き、流れの果てに）》中，依然活泼如故的典子与已为人妇的和美联手消灭宇宙怪兽，历经一万两千年的光速之旅最终回到地球时，慢慢显现的“欢迎回家”更是让无数fans留下热泪！！！！
传奇并未完结，2004年开始放送的《飞跃巅峰2!》由GAINAX另一位鬼才，曾任《新世纪福音战士》副监督，《FLCL》监督的鹤卷和哉担纲监督，为整个故事画上了圆满的句号。依然如故的根性+美少女，新时代的杀必死服务和萌LOLI，鹤卷很好地在新老两代要素中取得了平衡。跨越一万二千年的友情，持续一万二千年的奇迹，终于在我们眼前完美谢幕。
此后大肆宣扬的合体剧场版，却并不像原作那样激动人心。分两部分放送的合体剧场版，第一部分只是《飞跃巅峰!》原作经5.1声道重新录制之后的宽频剪辑版，而第二部分的《飞跃巅峰2!》剪辑版也只是加入了若干新画面，根本没有fans热切期望的大段大段的华丽原创，究其原因，只能是在遥远的过去，GAINAX在EVA时代留下的骗钱习惯吧。
让我们来看看本次的主角限定版《飞跃巅峰2!&飞跃巅峰!合体剧场版!》DVD－BOX吧。本作预定2007年1月26日由BANDAI VISUAL制作发售，含税价格15540日元。本编DISC1约95分钟，本编DISC2约95分钟，此外还配有特典DISC1（片长约95分钟）和特典DISC2（片长约60分），以及初回特典收纳BOX及初回特典BOOKLET。
